| A Health Care Unit requires a billing/coding specialist to perform the following responsibilities which include:
*Accurate coding and abstracting of medical records data
*Accurate coding and billing outpatient visits and surgery using super bills
*Submitting claims manually and electronically
*Researching and analyzing CMS 1500 claims interpreting reason for denials
referencing policies and guidelines
*Responsible for evaluating the coding practices of the medical clinics for
accuracy and completeness and coding support
*Identifying and implementing coding opportunities for enhanced reimbursement
*Transcription
*Computer data entry
