The goal of the audio-visual approach is to use two kind of speech record at the same time: a record by an AS writing system, an audio record by a sound equipment and an echoing effect for self-monitoring.
The AS is showing you the English sound chain as well as chain of English articulatory movements and how the movements are made.
The audio record is providing you with the English sound.
The computer program "Auditory Feedback (AF)" is providing you with "delayed auditory feedback (DAF)". The special delay allows you easier to introduce the melody of a new acquired language.
Scientists are not certain why the auditory feedback works, but they do know that two technologies, delayed auditory feedback and frequency altered feedback, or pitch change, have been known for decades to help people of any age overcome some speech problems.
