THE JOB: Cheerful, friendly woman in wheelchair searching for 2 or 3 part-time caregivers. Mostly bedfast at the present time, but with proper care could be up and in the wheelchair more often. Prefers healthy meals. Loves animals, plants, people, and a good book. Has one indoor house cat. Needs full personal care and household help. Likes things simple, and prefers a neat and tidy home.
SCHEDULE: On weekdays, approximately 5 hours are needed in the morning, and 2 to 3 hours are needed at night. On weekend days, the schedule is about the same, with the possibility of slightly less hours on Sundays.
THE KIND OF PERSON WE'RE LOOKING FOR TO FILL THIS POSITION: If you are responsible, reliable, punctual, honest, trustworthy, hard-working, teachable, compassionate, and caring, we are interested in hearing from you. Non-smokers only. For dependability reasons, would prefer someone with their own transportation to and from work. Karen needs caregivers she can count on.
EXPERIENCE: No experience necessary - happy to train, if you are willing to learn. Great position for a student, or someone interested in personal care-giving or healthcare.
YOUR LOCATION: Would prefer someone no further south than Mountain View, and no further north than Burlingame. However, if you have a compelling story and a strong desire for this position, we'd be happy to entertain the idea of someone a little farther away. This is NOT a live-in position.
ABSOLUTELY NON-NEGOTIABLE: You MUST have the legal right to be in the United States. You MUST have the legal right to work in this country. You MUST have the legal right to drive a motor vehicle to and from work, which means that you MUST have a California state-issued driver's license.
LANGUAGE: Good english preferred, but spanish okay.
PAY: This is a state-paid job and pays about $10.75 per hour.
