·         Data Center experience at Globix and Exodus. Build new Windows systems on Dell 1 U’s as well as Sun V100’s. Cisco switch VLAN configuration. Power management.

Accomplishments:      

§         Completely scrapped the inadequate existing ArcServe backup solution, and designed and implemented a new enterprise level backup system using Veritas Software Backup Exec for Windows and multiple automated tape libraries.

§         Administration of Exchange 5.5 for over 250 users on 3 servers. Manage migrations of user accounts and eventually shut down Vantive’s Exchange servers because PeopleSoft used Lotus Notes.

§         Enterprise level systems administration of Windows 2000, Windows NT domains.

§         Rolled out an IIS Intranet web server to support the Veritas backup solution. Site included help files, configuration, licenses, contacts, vendors, tape container information, and forms for backup requests.

§         DNS, DHCP and WINS server configuration and maintenance. Configuration of DHCP scopes and monitoring address usage, creating DNS entries and maintaining WINS servers.

§         Resolved NetBIOS problems resulting from incorrect WINS server address, improper DHCP scope settings and WINS replication problems.

§         Plugged Domain security holes. Removed over 100 domain administrators. Implemented account expiration policies and forced password changes.

§         Setup new labs for software development teams. Used Norton Ghost to create images of systems running NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 with specific applications for testing.

Accomplishments:

§         Roll out the Companies new Exchange 5.5 e-mail server. From conception, to an up and running production system, it had taken only one month. System supports over 250 users.

§         Veritas Backup Exec 7.2 for their new Exchange Server and multiple file servers.

§         NT Systems administration and end user support. Responsible for all user account creation on the NT domain and Unix systems. Reorganized patch panels, color-coded by subnets.

§         Mass deployment using imaging software and network installations to build servers andworkstations. Utilize Norton Ghost or Image Cast to create images to save time rolling out new servers.

§         Manipulate and maintain hosts file on the Unix SMTP server for mail delivery and aliases. Worked Closely with lead Unix Systems Engineer and assisted when necessary.

§         Created the solution to mass deploy machines in a fast growing start up environment. All systems had applications that related to their job responsibility.

§         End user support with printing issues, application issues, restoring data, and e-mail problems.
