1. the owners have been slandering other coffee roasters and shops in the sf area, saying that they plotted against them at the regional barista competition in petaluma by unfair judging and "sabotaging" their machines. they actually bought the domain name of another coffee shop in the area, using it to "call out" one of the owners who judged them in the regional barista competition. after many phone calls from people fed up with them, they took it down and apologized for their irrational behavior.
2. they then fired half of their staff convinced those people were "spies" for other coffee companies AND were refusing to pay them their backwages until their personal "investigation" was over. they did not bother to even tell one employe that she was fired, she found out from her coworker! they told one employe that they were going to shut down the store without notifying anyone, and were not going to answer their phone calls when people called them. after being threatened with calls to the department of labor and the irs, they finally agreed to pay people but not until former employes signed a contract saying that they would not report them for TAX EVASION & that they were just trainees and never real employees in the first place. one of the employees did not agree to this, realizing it was screwed up, so she has not received her backwages.
3. they are also convinced that some of their regular customers and people who were considered friends are actually spies for other coffee companies.
4. now, on a public forum, they are claiming that a girl who worked at the coffee shop down the block poisoned them with boric acid! this is a very serious allegation to make with no hard evidence or lab tests done.
these people are incredibly screwed up in the head and do not care about their employees or customers. they need to be shut down and never allowed to own another business again. please do not go to this cafe and encourage their behavior.
