Why A's/Raiders Fans Hate the 49ers and Giants (pittsburg / antioch)

Title Why A's/Raiders Fans Hate the 49ers and Giants (pittsburg / antioch)

Description See, I used to think that Raider fans, like all other fans of teams other than the 49ers, hate the Niners simply because they're jealous of their 5 Super Bowl titles. That definitely adds to it, but that can't possibly be it. I've noticed over the last couple years that even A's fans are developing more and more disdain for the Giants, especially Barry Bonds of course. Well, the Giants haven't won a World Series since 1954 (although they should have and couldn't possibly have gotten any closer in 2002) so obviously there's no jealousy there. Not that the A's have been the model of success of late. They could definitely teach a seminar on how to choke in the playoffs or not get past the first round though. How many times did they have a 2-0 lead in the first round and still manage to lose the series? I digress. The point is, there is still some jealousy to be found even with the Giants/A's rivalry. The common bond between the hatred for the 49ers and Giants? The city of San Francisco. Think about it. Oakland fans know that their city is inferior. The fact that everyone else knows it (if they even know of Oakland) only makes it worse. Nobody comes to the Bay Area to see Oakland. The city wouldn't even be on the map if not for the sports teams. A lot of people around the country are aware that there is a city called Oakland in California, but they wouldn't know whether to look down by San Diego or up by Sacramento to find it on the map. I've lived in the East Bay all my life, except for 4 years in the Air Force, and the only reason I've ever gone to Oakland was because it's one more city to pass through on the way to San Francisco. Seriously, what is Oakland known for? How many movies and TV shows take place in Oakland? What world or even nationally famous landmarks are in Oakland? Face it. It's nothing but an oversized suburb. One ghetto-ass suburb at that too, like a big-ass Pittsburg or Richmond. If you showed a picture of Oakland's "skyline" to any random people, 99 out of 100 wouldn't know what city it is. Show the same people the Transamerica building, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, etc. and they'll know it's the City by the Bay. Speaking of "the City," to what city is being referred in this instance? Here's a hint: it's not San Jose. So do I love San Francisco? Not really. All my life, my only reasons for going there were to see my grandparents or a Niners game. Now I just go there to work. I think it's too liberal actually, but so is Oakland. At least there's something to do in SF besides get shot. All you "Oaktown" fans can spare me the "faggot San Francisco" rhetoric because Oakland has its share of homos too. Besides, I thought you liberals were supposed to be "tolerant." As long as it's convenient for you, that is. So now you all understand why Oakland fans hate San Francisco: insecurity because of inferiority. Oh and Oakland may have more World Series titles, but San Francisco still has more Super Bowl titles, thanks. And in America football is king.
