Summary:
The Northern Pacific Region is looking for a sharp, efficient, motivated individual to support the Regional Whole Body Program. The right person for this position will provide support in store level training, staff development, comp sales growth, competition review and analysis, increasing profitability, and raising our merchandising standards. In addition to these, this person will also attend and contribute to our Monthly TL Meetings, and aid in remodels, resets and new store openings. This position is a store based position and requires much travel with regular visits to all stores in the region.
Will Do:
1. Roll up sleeves and maintain a highly visible store presence
2. Lots of driving and store contact
3. Team Building - training, educating, mentoring
4. Troubleshoot margin and labor problems
5. Training Whole Body teams about current issues
6. Assisting with rollout of regional marketing programs and follow-through at the stores
7. Assist in the hiring and training of department level leadership
8. Focus on improving retail operating systems (team leadership, staff structure)
9. Assist in closing the product feedback loop from the stores to the source (improve quality)
10. Monitor and maintain quality standards. Make sure that stores follow through and use regional resources
11. Assist in management of the relationship between regional coordinator and the stores
12. Oversee and be available for the Whole Body TL’s and Regional coordinator
13. Maintain Store Team Leader communications
14. Assist in developing weekly product and merchandising strategies for stores
15. Track trends and activities in the bay area retail market place
16. Assist in store openings, resets, and remodels
17. Champion regional program and store issues
18. Assists in special projects as defined by the regional coordinator
Must Have/Be:
1. Outstanding quality and performance standards
2. Three years experience in nutrition
3. The highest merchandising skills and retail standards
4. Experience with equipment, fixtures, store design
5. Experience in the bay area market
6. Excellent communication skills
7. Experience with human resource management
8. An understanding of margin management systems
9. An understanding of marketing theory
10. Reliable transportation
11. Computer Skills in Word and Excel a plus
12. Travel a must
13. Conceptual understanding of the industry as it moves into the 21st century
14. In depth knowledge of Whole Foods practices and procedures
15. Exceptional organizational skills
16. Conceptual understanding of current retail nutrition trends and innovations
17. Willingness to have a presence in the stores
18. Desire to develop partnership with Team Leaders and Regional Coordinator
