You don't have to go to Stockton or Tracy to see real white trash. We have plenty of it right here in our own backyard. It is called Sunnyvale. There's one trailer park after another in the area around Tasman and Lawrence Expressway.
I've been spending alot of time in those trailer parks lately amongst the white trash. My girlfriend lives there with her family in one of those trailer "homes". The parks are a strange place. It seems that everybody is retired or on welfare. If they do work it is in a body shop or machine shop. The ironic thing is that they are right near prominent Silicon Valley companies like Yahoo, Network Appliance, Juniper Networks, and Lockheed Martin.
There is no intellectual conversation. They are not worldly or well traveled. People talk about the fucking Raiders or how to get to the probation department on the light rail. All they eat is junk food and high-carb shit. Fine dining to them is going to Black Angus or Red Lobster. They shop at Wal-Mart. It seems that everyone is overweight. Fat fat people. It is like I am visiting the Midwest. No wonder Bush got re-elected if people like this are all over the country.
In these vast huge trailer parks occasionally there is one that has been converted to a "two story" trailer. Those are real funny. Are yuppies even moving into trailer parks now?
It will be interesting to see what happens if my WASPY Los Gatos parents and my girlfriend's white trash parents ever meet. It will truly be two worlds colliding.
