for those who are unfamiliar with the camp, it's an environmental camp, so no pets are permitted. each site has a picnic table, fire pit, and food locker, with clean but primitive restrooms and piped drinking water nearby, not to mention a lovely view of the Pacific and access to the Steep Ravine trailhead & the rest of Mt. Tamalpais State Park.
it's two miles south of Stinson Beach, around the 11.05 mile marker on Highway 1. if you're lazy and don't want to cook, you can walk 2 miles or drive for 5 minutes and eat in Stinson Beach.
only one vehicle per site is permitted past the locked gate, and sites are limited to five people, though this particular site has room for 2 huge or 3 good-sized tents.
these sites are very popular--we made this reservation six months ago--and any extra weekend reservations tend to get snapped up pretty quickly, so if you want to go, speak up right away.
