GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
The Copywriter’s role is to assist in increasing the value of the bebe web site via creative and directional written communications.
GENERAL JOB FUNCTIONS
•Work with Web Merchandise Manager to develop and implement product copy and site names formulas that compliment the merchandise and enhance the user experience;
•Research, develop, recommend and implement creative content for the web site that is appeals to the bebe.com customer and compliments the commerce path;
•Work with Web Marketing Manager in the copy development of all marketing and promotional messages that compliment the current marketing strategy and ensure that the messages reflect the bebe brand and tone;
•Work with Web Operations Manager on all customer service communications, including email templates and directional copy;
•Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals;
•Fulfill customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction;
•Additional responsibilities, duties, and projects as assigned.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor’s degree, in Communications or English preferred;
•5-7 years of professional writing experience and 1-year of experience writing for the Web;
•Superlative verbal skills with an emphasis on creativity;
•Familiarity with fashion and web jargon a definite plus;
•Retail experience – preferably in the apparel industry;
•Blue Martini enterprise desktop or other content management software experience preferred;
•Tremendous attention to detail-a copyeditor's eye is a must.
•Requires sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time, i.e. regularly working more than 40 hours per week;
•Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously;
•Ability to cope with pressure, multiple deadlines, and working under pressure;
•Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with fellow co-workers.
