Grouper Networks, a leading and well-funded startup in the red-hot video sharing space is looking for a web applications software developer to work on the discovery and on-line community features of Grouper.com. The website allows users to share, discover, view and download personal video clips. It includes a directory and a search engine for user generated video clips. This is a dream job if you are passionate about building on-line search engines, directories and on-line community features for user-generated content and have good development skills in these areas.
What you should bring with you:
- 4+ years experience developing code for a large web-site using DHTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Experience developing server-side code for dynamic websites using application servers, SQL databases and languages such as PHP, JAVA, Perl or C++
- Experience building on-line recommendation engines and on-line community web-sites
- Good command of SQL
- Good understanding of Internet search and directories technology
- Experience developing applications that involve natural language processing and user generated taxonomy
- Good familiarly with the concept of tagging for user-generated content
- Good command of one of these languages: Java, C++, C#, PHP, Perl
- Good overall software design and development skills, and a passion to solve hard technical problems
- Ability to independently own, design, write and test features based on requirements
- Ability to estimate development schedules for owned features and to ship high-quality features on schedule
- B.Sc or M.Sc in computer science
- NTH: - 2+ years experience developing data-driven Web applications in C# using ASP.Net, ADO.Net and MS SQL Server 2000
