Web/UI Designer

This job requires an experienced GUI designer who is also equal parts investigator, crafty strategist, information architect, usability engineer, convincing communicator and all-around problem eliminator.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the information architecture of online content areas for our member site.
• Will create navigation maps, wire frames, functional specs and design requirement documents in addition to producing compelling designs for web applications.
• Will develop the HTML, DHTML, CSS for our sites.
• Will work in a team environment to flesh out the UI design and to make a difference to the website. Develop end user use cases, and work with a customer advisory team to assist with the website functional and creative development.
Requirements:
• Excellent analytical skills – ability to identify and communicate clients' usability challenges. Additional experience performing heuristic evaluations and usability tests, as well as documenting results would be helpful.
• Ideal candidate will have broad and/or deep knowledge of the capabilities and constraints when designing for these technologies and media: Java, Web technologies (HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, etc.). Please note: This is not a development/coding position.
Skill set should include:
o User research
o Information architecture
o Usability testing
o Ability to build Wireframes
o Proper usage of GUI controls/widgets
o Documentation of UI standards and interaction specifications
o Excellent and confident writing skills
o Excellent HTML/CSS design and construction skills (building pages for deployment) for both PC and Macintosh platforms
o Focus on latest technology and trends (Web 2.0 applications)
o Ability to work in a fast-paced, passionate environment with high level of attention to detail
