We are an FAA certified Aviation Instrument Repair shop looking for a Watch/Clock repairman or an Aviation Instrument Repairman. Delicate touch and patience is needed since aviation instruments are densely packed and are like clocks and watches. Basic electrical and electronics knowledge is preferred.
Most Aviation instruments have dials/hands much like clocks. Internal mechanisms are geared (some times with a hair spring) to an electrical synchro, magneto pickup coils or to a bourdon tube. These will have bearings and jewels. Most repairs involve, complete teardown, examine and replace bearings, make adjustments for tolerance.
Some of the instruments hermetically sealed and all most all instruments need a new coat of paint when they leave the shop. Some instruments will come off from engine side of the airplane and will be oily and dirty. Some times modern electronic assemblies are also used, as such soldering will be needed.
For a qualified candidate training will be provided. Hands on training in basic electrical and electronic circuitry will also be provided. If you are computer inclined and want to learn LabView programming we have the gear for that as well.
If you are retired from the trade and want to do something on the side part time will be considered.
Since this a government regulated industry and involves airplanes, job offer is contingent upon passing a FAA mandated Drug Test and back ground check. No security clearence is required.
