PURPOSE OF POSITION: To perform all daily warehouse, salvage, and distribution work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Use material handling equipment (stand up forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) in a safe manner to perform all daily warehouse duties: receiving, storage, agency order pulling, salvage, produce sorting, and receiving.
2) Organize product flow and storage to maximize space efficiency and maintain safety standards.
3) Receive, sort, and process produce, salvage, and food drive products.
4) Build USDA orders for member agencies (including picking merchandise).
5) In the absence of the volunteer supervisor, supervise the volunteers in all warehouse tasks including salvage, sanitation and EFB/CARE box production.
6) Maintain pest logs and take corrective measures.
9) Accurately complete all paperwork for inventory transfers, dump sheets and in a timely fashion.
10) Participate in physical inventories and maintain accurate inventory counts.
11) Maintain an organized and sanitary facility and monitor the sanitation schedule.
12) Monitor equipment condition and maintain equipment logs.
13) Perform other duties and tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
1) High School diploma or equivalent.
2) Ability to do heavy lifting.
3) Experience using stand up forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
4) Use of basic math skills to maintain accurate transactions.
5) Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
6) Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in the warehouse.
7) Ability to work and interact well with individuals (staff and volunteers) from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds in a culturally diverse environment.
