The University Club of Palo Alto, a private tennis & swim club, is looking for swim instructors and lifeguards for the summer 2006 season. We are looking for qualified individuals who are responsible, outgoing, and friendly who want to be a part of a fun, family oriented atmosphere. Positions Available:
1) HEAD LIFEGUARD
Qualifications: Must have 3-5 years of lifeguard experience. Must be certified in Lifeguard Training, CPR, and First Aid. Management experience desired but not required.
Responsibilities: Head guard is responsible for scheduling, training, and daily oversight of staff of approximately 12 guards, with assistance from the Pool Manager. Ideal candidate will begin in May (weekends only) if possible.
Beginning June 10 through mid August, head guard responsible for 30-40 hours/week. Pay $14-16/hour depending on experience. Memorial Day and July 4th required. If interested, please contact Jen at jdoughty@ucpaloalto.com.
2) LIFEGUARDS
Qualifications: Must be certified in Lifeguard Training, CPR, and First Aid. Experience desired but not required. Must be friendly yet assertive.
Responsibilities: Responsible for providing a safe and professional environment and enforcing the rules and policies of the club for the benefit of the members’ enjoyment. Flexible schedule but must be available for a minimum of 15 hours/week. Some weekends and holidays required. Pay is $9/hour and up, depending on experience. 3) SWIM INSTRUCTORS (Spring and Summer)
Qualifications: Positive, friendly, outgoing attitude. Must have experience working with children. Current CPR/First Aid certifications required. Personal swim and/or teaching/coaching experience highly desired.
Responsibilities: Teach group and/or private swim lessons as scheduled/assigned. Attend all staff training sessions and meetings as scheduled. Pay is $12-16/hour depending on experience. Summer Schedule: Summer sessions begin June 12th and continue through August 18th. General hours: 11-4pm, Monday through Thursday. Spring schedule: Flexible. Afternoon hours between 1-4pm. Weekends optional depending on your schedule.
