Join the team at Current! Headquartered in San Francisco, Current is a new
independent TV network created by former Vice President Al Gore and entrepreneur
Joel Hyatt. We are the first national network created by, for and with an 18-34 year-old
audience. Our unique programming shows young adults what’s going on in their world,
in their voice and from their perspective. With a substantial portion of the network’s
content provided by the audience, we’re the first network in history whose programming
is supplied and selected in part by the very audience who watches it. Current launched
in August 2005 into nearly 20 million homes.
We are looking for a: Video Engineer
As our new Video Engineer, you will join the Current Technology Group, the team responsible for maintaining the facility and keeping the network on the air. Our all-digital SD/HD facility needs your skills, expertise and enthusiasm.
Responsibilities Include:
- HD Studio and HDV Field gear knowledge, operation, instruction and management
- Digital routing systems
- HD and SD television production
- Audio, video and cable TV equipment and systems
- Broadcast Transmission: both fiber and satellite systems
- Strong ability to solder, diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics
- Ability to fabricate custom-built cables and connectors
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of both MacOS- and Windows-based systems
- Knowledge of NLE systems, software and hardware
- Detail oriented, ability to act under pressure.
- At least 2 years of experience working in a production or broadcast environment.
