Soil Born Farm Urban Agriculture Project, a small farm and education center, is hiring apprentices for the 2006 growing season. We will provide a training ground for aspiring farmers and gardners by teaching the basic concepts and practical applications of organic food production. We will also use the garden medium as a platform to show how alternative food systems tie into the larger social issues of food security, social justice, and public health. Apprentices will be exposed to every aspect of food production from propagation, irrigation, soil management and bed preparation, to harvesting, and marketing. The commitment is full time from Mid March to November 1.
