Job Summary The incumbent will provide HIV-related trainings for HIV test counselors, mental health, and other health care providers; these trainings will be conducted throughout the State of California, range in length from one day to five days, and include a variety of topics; provide other trainings to HIV health and health care agencies as requested; review materials for clinical relevance; and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Master degree in social work (MSW), psychology, counseling, or a related field from an accredited university, and possession of the requirements necessary for application for licensure as a clinical social worker as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge of issues related to HIV and people living with HIV and AIDS, particularly as they relate to sexual and ethnic minority populations; able to interact effectively with a diversity of staff and training participants; excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; ability to act independently, identifying solutions to system problems, set priorities, and work as an integral member of a team; able to facilitate large multi-day trainings throughout the state of California; able to travel, including multiple overnight stays; ability to lift and carry boxes weighing 20 – 25 lbs.; demonstrated excellence in attendance and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications MFT/LCSW preferred; prior UCSF or UC experience.
