Shorinji Ryu Karatedo is a classical Japanese martial art that teaches unarmed techniques, weapons, and meditation. Through rigorous practice in kihon waza (basic techniques), kata (formal exercises), and kumite (two-person exercises), the goal is to develop the body, mind, and character of the practitioner.

Karatedo is a vigorous and enlightening practice, and the only way to decide if you want to train seriously is to try it. Students of all levels are welcome - from beginner to experienced. Ordinary, loose-fitting workout clothes are appropriate for beginning students. Classes are taught with an emphasis on mutual respect, self-discipline, and physical conditioning.
Classes are taught by a Sandan (3rd degree Black Belt) in Ogasawara-ha (Sakugawa Koshiki) Shorinji Ryu Karatedo. He has been actively practicing Shorinji Ryu since 1992 and has studied several other arts.
