To the mom who thinks it doesn't take brains

Description "To be honest, it doesn't take a lot of brains to be a good caregiver."- You have said a mouthful in terms of the value you place on your caregiver. The parents I work for look for educators of their children and appreciate that I have a college degree, speak English (as well as Spanish), know CPR/First Aid, will use my car to transport their children and realize these skills and resources have cost me money for which they are willing to compensate me fairly.

As for your laughable defense of hiring Latinas, as if you are a champion of trying to provide them employment after coming from "horrendous conditions", the bottom line is that there are endless illegal employers who exploit the Latino community to provide cheap below-market domestic labor- not because they are ambassadors of goodwill.

As for not 'even' wanting to do housework, why is that a naturally assumed part of taking care of a child? Why part of taking care of a child insinuates maid duties as well?

And as for what parents in this area get to take home $2,800 a month, I would say a hell of a lot more than most childcare providers considering this area's average home price is over $500,000. I don't see many nannies living in these homes. I do, however, see plenty of people like you, who feel entitled to in home, one-on-one childcare at bargain prices even if it means hiring illegally.
