I have been on the internet dating scene and have not found much by way of a connection. It seems that women around my age, I am 51, have a laundry list of items that they want fulfilled in order for them to feel comfortable enough to get physically intimate.
It usually goes something like this. Looking for Mr. Right or for my Soul Mate(if you don’t have all the qualifications, don’t apply), who is financially secure (if you don’t have the money I want, get lost), enjoys the exactly the same things that I do(if you don’t, I don’t want to be with you), someone who wants to be friends first (can require a year of dating and then I will decide if comfortable enough to get intimate, if not, I just want you to go away).
Maybe I am just jaded or is it that the women I have met have so much self interest that it is impossible to just have a friendship and be intimate? Can love be shared and have a relationship not based upon so, so many expectations? Perhaps these women have been burnt in relationships one to many times. Well, I have been burnt too but I still want to share my love.
The other issue seems to be that women in this age range have a libido that has gone by the way side. I am wondering, is this common among women of this age? I was told that a woman’s libido peaks at around 37 and then really diminishes by the age of 47. Why is it then that so many men go after younger women?? Hum, let me think.
The last woman I dated told me that see wants everything to be right before being sexual and that this could take up to two years of dating... Wow,, what is going on here. I have met other women who have said something very similar. For me, part of being human is having physical intimacy, being passionate, and sharing that aspect of ourselves.
I am a caring and compassionate person, who is not demanding; although, I do want to be with a best friend and lover I find attractive and with whom we enjoy each other’s company. I am tall, fit, friendly and college educated.
Maybe someone is out there who enjoys movies, art, music, theater, being outside, conversation, spirituality, staying fit, is a passionate lover.
