CREATING A FAMILY: CHOICES & RESOURCES

Are you thinking about becoming a parent? Come to this panel to learn about all the options available to LGBT individuals. Panelists will include representatives from foster and private adoption agencies and sperm banks .
Location: Bananas at 5232 Claremont Avenue in Oakland. Plenty of free parking behind the building in the lot.

HEAR IT FROM US: PERSPECTIVES OF YOUTH WITH LGBT PARENTS
Tuesday, April 4 6:00-8:00pm
This is a unique opportunity to hear the often invisible voices of the children of the LGBT community. Challenges and victories in school, experiences with peers, advice to parents of younger children, perspective parents, teachers, and allies, their views on LGBT political issues, and their place within our queer communities, are some of the topics the panel will address. Attendees will be encouraged to ask questions- this is your chance to hear a unique perspective on LGBT families- from the kids that are in them.
Location: The SF LGBT Community Center at 1800 Market St. at Octavia. Take MUNI JKLMN to Van Ness Station or above ground F Line to Octavia.

Our Family Coalition promotes the civil rights and well being of Bay Area lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender families with children and prospective parents through education, advocacy, social networking, and grassroots community organizing.
Our Family Coalition offers an array of social and educational events, a quarterly newsletter, a comprehensive informational website, information and referrals for current and prospective parents, opportunities for its members to be heard and seen in the media, and e-mail lists for parents to network with one another. With nearly 600 family memberships, Our Family Coalition is one of the largest LGBT family organizations in the nation.
