The Brickyard blues band is auditioning male drummers. Our setup is guitar, fem singer, keys/left hand bass, and drums, with 3 of us doing lead vocal. The style is dynamic, up-blues/based show-style production, ranging from modern blues and blues/funk to 60’s and even 40’s style, with lots of vocal harmony. We have a late 30’s early 40’s blue-collar look, lights and full equipment. Currently working, with some really interesting things coming up.

We aren't looking for someone who won't (or can't) leave the house without getting paid (not to say, of course, that there is something wrong with getting paid for what you do.) We are not depending on the band for a living, so that pressure is not a factor. We are all professional and experienced, committed and dedicated to this project. We’re looking for a guy between around 25 and 40, available and dependable, good aggressive chops, and a pro attitude about themselves, their music and their bandmates. Level of experience may be negotiable. depending on ability and "fit". We’ve worked hard to build something of quality, and don’t want to get into a revolving-door situation with personnel. We are looking for someone who will commit and stick with it. So if you have a day gig, that’s cool, as long as we can make the schedules work and you can make rehearsals and gigs reliably. We’re all easy to get along with. As we all know, the one thing that can destroy a promising band in a hurry is unchecked personality conflicts.

We’re based and rehearse in Castro Valley, Oakland east bay. You’ll need to be available for rehearsal up to 2 weeknights (Wed and Thurs) and one weekend afternoon in C V. Most importantly, be willing to be dependable and give the band some degree of commitment and priority. We are committed to a quality presentation, and already have a growing loyal following.

Gigs range from clubs to street fairs, county fairs, corporate functions, and opening acts or overseas. We generally stay local, within 50 miles or so. Most pay, but to be honest, some (like the Bay to Breakers for the last 3 years) don’t. We do it because we love it. We’re seeking someone with a similar viewpoint. If you want to be part of something challenging, and that you can be proud of, we should talk.

Thanks.
Mike
