Ongoing TENNIS CLINICS are held every Saturday at 1 PM (Beginners) and 2 PM (Intermediates) at University Terrace Park (AKA Meder Park) located on Meder Street in Santa Cruz. These clinics are perfect for beginning students who want to learn the fundamentals of the game so they can enjoy themselves more as they learn and develop new shots. Located near the UCSC campus, these clinics are perfectly convenient for UC Santa Cruz All ages over 10 are welcome to attend these clinics. Ongoing group lessons are available for children under 10 years old also.
Intermediates will also benefit from a personalized approach to correcting swing flaws and learning the art of doubles. Both classes are fun, movement- oriented, and immediately useful for match play. Cal Honda, City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation tennis instructor, teaches these clinics every Saturday, weather permitting. The clinics are on a drop-in basis if there is space available (maximum of eight students), or your spot can be reserved by e-mailing Cal ahead of time. COST FOR CLINICS: $10
If you have a few friends who would like to take private group lessons with you, please contact Cal so a time and day of the week can be arranged. Fees for these private lessons are posted by the City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation Department at the tennis courts.
