Help transform television. Current, an independent media company led by
former Vice President Al Gore, entrepreneur Joel Hyatt, and a growing team
of industry professionals and young creatives, is looking for a Temporary
Designer in its' Broadcast Design Dept. In May 2004 Current acquired a cable
network that reaches nearly 20 million homes. In 2005 the company will debut
programming featuring shows shaped by a new generation of media-savvy
creators. The home office of Current is in San Francisco. This position
will be based in San Francisco, CA, and is slated to run for two weeks. This
position is available ASAP.
REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Minimum 2 years demonstrable experience with motion graphics and After
Effects
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Graphic Design from an accredited
institution
• 3-5 years broadcast design experience
• Thorough knowledge of design and typography (history, theory, practice)
• Ability to take design direction from concept through execution
• Must be able to work within tight deadlines and still have fun!
• Professional demeanor and pleasant personality
• Must be able to multi-task and possess excellent time management skills
• Must be a team player and demonstrate excellent people skills
• Must be a self-starter and have the ability to creatively problem solve
• Ability to work well with others, especially under deadline pressure
• Keen interest in news, entertainment, global and current affairs
• Must be familiar with the Macintosh platform including:
OSX
Adobe Creative Suite of applications
(Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
After Effects
Cinema 4D
Final Cut Pro
Motion
