Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates, producer of premium wines, currently has two openings for part-time tasting room staff to begin the spring season. These positions will work Thursday through Sunday, between 9-6, with the possibility of other days. The positions run through October with the possibility of regular employment afterward, depending on staffing needs at the end of the season and employee performance.

This role is responsible for providing customer service. This is an important customer service position and the overall goal is to ensure that every visitor to the winery has a positive experience, and leaves with a favorable attitude towards Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates.
Efficiently and effectively receives and stocks wine and non-wine merchandise at the tasting room and promote the products through customer service and wine pouring.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greets all visitors to the winery and pours wines for tasting.
Accurately conducts sales and cash register transactions.
Effectively suggests and sells wine to customers.
Assists customers with wine and non-wine merchandise to their vehicles.
Describes wines, winemaking techniques, and winery history; answers visitorˇ¦s questions.
Provides general tourist information.
Conducts guided tours as needed.
Handles routine purchasing transactions, which include operating cash register an accounting of daily sales; processes returns, discounts, etc.
Represents winery at outside functions as needed.
Acquires and maintains thorough knowledge of winery and its wines.
Receives, removes and unpacks bulk wine cases from delivery vehicles and moves to designated storage area or tasting room.
Assists with display and pricing of retail items and wines as needed.
Safely operates and/or utilizes handling equipment as needed to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area (i.e. dolly cart).
Routes items to other locations within the Company.
Assists with the counting monthly physical inventories.
Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements
Must be over 21 years old.
Ability to work a flexible schedule. Must be able to work one weekend day and one to two weekdays per week.
High School diploma or equivalent desired. 1-2 yearsˇ¦ related experience preferred.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Outstanding ability in customer service and working with the public.
Knowledge of wines and wine production required.
Fluent in English.
Proven ability to effectively communicate with diverse client group.
Commitment to excellence and high standards.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Flexibility and ability to manage constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Knowledge of commonly used practices and procedures within the receiving clerk arena.
Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: .
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
Must be able to effectively stock wine and non-wine merchandise, set-up and break down structures, tables, etc., and be able to utilize dolly cart and other equipment to assist in moving heavy objects.
