Talent Needed!
I am shooting a short student film that is about 30 minutes long. It is an adaptation of Sam Shepherd’s play FOOL FOR LOVE. We plan on shooting for about two weekends sometime in March or April. Must have a car or a reliable means of transportation. Filming will take place in San Rafael in Marin County. Talent will receive copy, credit, food, and you'll have a great time! This is an excellent chance to gain experience!
FOOL FOR LOVE is about a couple who can't live with each other, but they can't live without each other either. They have a very unhealthy relationship; they are both trapped in an abusive and depressing relationship. Eddie runs out on May constantly, she throws him out while simultaneously begging him to stay. All their attempts to escape are futile. They love and hate each other with a passion. May and Eddie share the same father. Their father fell in love twice; it was the same love, just split in two. They complete that love. History repeats itself over and over again; they are doomed to repeat the same cycle of heartbreak. They can't escape their fates. They are both fools for love.
CHARACTERS:
MAY is a woman in her mid to late 20's. She is a beautiful woman, but her face can't help but show the despair caused by her relationship with EDDIE. She is a very strong woman; she has to be. She is scarred emotionally by her futile attempts to escape her relationship. She loves EDDIE desperately. She is extremely needy, but she can hide it well if she needs to. She is extremely proud and stubborn. She has red hair. She is ferocious, and has a short temper.
EDDIE is in his mid 20's to early 30's although he appears older. He has aged prematurely due to the stress of his relationship. He is extremely stubborn and proud. He loves MAY fiercely. He makes his living as a housepainter, he is a tough man; he is thin but strong. He feels trapped by their relationship and runs out on her often but he also goes to great lengths to get her back.
Auditions will be held in late March or early April.
