The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the architectural design and support of Network and software infrastructure environments. Successful candidates will apply sound knowledge of protocols, good interpersonal skills and communication background in designing and maintaining a high-performance stable environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- This person will be a key member of the staff that supports the global network infrastructure for the firm both internally and through interfaces with remote offices and clients.
- The candidate must be able to relate with industry network peers, System Administrators , Help Desk personnel, and other technical staff.
- Selected individual must be proactive towards designing and implementing monitoring and reporting functions that will make this a hands off environment.
- An ability to quickly analyze problems, implement standard and extensible solutions is a mandatory requirement for this position.
- An ability to analyze and diagnose connectivity and functionality problems relating to a wide variety of complex hardware and software issues is necessary.
- The person in this position will be responsible for optimizing the performance of Network infrastructure components.
- Network design and router and switch configuration, and implementation
- Implementation and testing of IP networks
- Analysis and resolution of complex network problems
- Interfacing with telecom service providers for service implementation and turn up
- Assist in networking hardware and telecom services vendor analysis and recommendations
- Support and configuration of network management systems
- Analyzing network performance and making appropriate recommendations to assure the network performs adequately
Qualifications:
- Candidate must have networking experience, with an in-depth knowledge of IP networking, LAN/WAN technology, routing and switching background.
- It is preferred that candidate has experience with:
Proficiency with Cisco IOS and Cisco hardware
- Good understanding of Linux and Solaris and Windows systems
- Excellent communications skills
- Proficient with VPN Technologies
- Knowledge of databases (SQL, Oracle...)
- Working knowledge and experience with Windows and different flavor of UNIX
