United Services is the maintenance and engineering operation of United Airlines. The division provides extensive services to more than 150 airline customers worldwide, including engine, high-tech component, avionics and landing gear overhaul, and a global line maintenance and logistic network. United Services is currently seeking a Strategy Analyst - Divisional Strategy & Business Planning to join its team.
Primary Focus: Supports development of long-term divisional strategy and business plan in cooperation with senior management. Assists with implementation and monitoring of strategy and business plan performance. Continually seeks improvement opportunities within strategy.
Specific Responsibilities:
Supports development and prioritization of revenue growth and cost reduction strategies; monitors progress against goals and identifies barriers to success
Supports development and management of an executable business plan including responsibilities, project schedules, financial/operational targets, key deliverables, milestones and performance reports; assists appropriate groups in division to execute against plan
Performs industry, competitor, and customer analysis; monitors and evaluates impact of trends on United Services; watches for key opportunities and barriers
Identifies technology requirements necessary to support strategies and business plan; works with Automation Planning group to prioritize and provides input on requirements
Supports and leads various special project assignments (e.g., Joint Ventures)
Coordinates with key leaders across division, as appropriate
Qualifications:
BS/BA degree in Business, Engineering or other technical discipline strongly preferred.; MBA preferred
Experience in strategy, strategic consulting, management consulting or similar preferred; experience working with senior executives preferred
3 - 5 years of experience required, demonstrated ability to lead cross-function teams is strongly preferred
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to present effectively to senior management
Strong mathematical or statistical skills
Solid knowledge of MS Office Applications (Required: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project; Desired: Access)
