JOB DESCRIPTION:
Williams-Sonoma is looking for an individual with a statistical modeling background to join its database marketing team. In addition to statistical expertise and experience, the ideal candidate will have a passion for marketing and a desire to apply state-of-the-art techniques to solve marketing challenges. Candidate will apply statistical techniques to develop models that drive the targeting strategy for over 360 million catalogs and customer contacts annually. Candidates with experience utilizing large-scale database systems and with experience designing highly efficient solutions are preferred. Candidate will utilize industry-leading technology including SAS Enterprise Miner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Math, Operations Research, or other similar quantitative field required
* Master’s degree preferred
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency with response modeling in a direct mail or market research environment
* Familiarity with a wide range of statistical techniques
* 3-5 years related experience in applied statistical analysis and programming in a business environment
* Proficient with SAS programming and/or other statistical software. Familiarity with SAS Enterprise Miner, SQL, and Oracle.
* Familiarity with relational databases, systems development and business data processing in a UNIX (or similar) environment
