Job title: Stanford Bookstore Bookseller, Tradebook Dept.
Position type: Part-time, 25-29 hours per week
Pay: $9/hr
The Trade Book Department at Stanford Bookstore is looking for a
highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and customer
service skills. This position will work closely to maintain the general book department, which includes
assisting the customers, preparing
trade book displays, as well as helping to maintain the book
selection and presentation. The ideal candidate
will possess excellent organizational and communication skills,
promote outstanding customer service and have the ability to be a
team player.
Responsibilities:
*Customer service and interaction
* Book Information desk
* Receiving assistance
*Communication with bookselling staff
*Special tasks as assigned
Assigned areas:
*Stock awareness
* Shelving
*Special orders
*Presentation: display and assigned area maintenance
Standards:
* Shelving is current (2 carts per 6 hour shift)
* Sections are correctly arranged and attractively displayed (98% accurate book placement in area)
*Available for customer assistance
* Areas are clean and well-maintained
Requirements:
*Good attendance record, punctual
*Good communication skills
*Good work attitude and relations with co-workers
*Ability to physically carry out responsibilities (lifting and standing)
* Ability to work with minimal direction
*Bookselling experience preferred, but not required
*25-29 hours/wk, MUST BE AVAILABLE WEEKEND AND EVENING HOURS
