Primary Job Responsibilities

Innovative and challenging white box testing opportunity. Become part of Paypal’s Architecture QA – and help develop unique back-end automation systems that drive system components through their internal APIs. Learn system internals through code analysis and apply the knowledge to define and build robust automation suites

• Design, enhance, maintain test automation infrastructure.
• Participate in design and development of test approaches
• Develop and document fully functional test plans and test procedures
• Design & implement automated functional test suites at the internal interface level.
• Track & analyze test results and work closely with the developers to isolate and reproduce defects.
• Participate in code reviews
• Interact closely with members of the cross-functional team for project success
• Communicate status & issues in a timely fashion and manage escalations appropriately.

Job Requirements

• 7+ years of industry experience in QA
• 2+ years of prior experience in development highly desirable
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
• Strong grasp of basic QA methodology, e.g. positive/negative/corner case testing coverage
• Strong understanding of multi-user software development
• Solid understanding of relational DB concepts
• Ability to read and understand technical design specification documents
• Ability to design test plans and execute test procedures for complex applications
• Solid troubleshooting ability
• Significant scripting/programming experience
• Hands-on user-level experience with SQL databases (prefer Oracle)
• Experience developing database applications is highly desirable
• Robust experience with data-driven, white box test automation & system-level testing
• Experience designing/implementing automatic test harnesses
• Experience with programming in Java environment
• Experience with C++ and JNI is preferable
• Experience debugging in Unix environment is preferable
• Experience in some aspect of financial services is preferable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
