Staff Accountant
The Jewish Community Federation is the central organization for fundraising, planning, outreach and leadership development of Bay Area Jewish communities. Our San Francisco office, located by the Embarcadero, is seeking a Staff Accountant to help ensure the accurate recording and timely reporting of financial information for the General Fund Accounting Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General Ledger:
Input journal entries for the general fund
Manage fixed assets in MIP software
Manage cash book
Prepare Office Fund journal entries
Reconcile cash, A/R, Fixed Assets
Cash:
Manage Office Fund transactions
Prepare Office Fund journal entries
Process credit card transactions for non-campaign events
Coordinate petty cash disbursement
Accounts Receivable:
Prepare accounts receivable invoices
Enter pledges into Raisers Edge software
Miscellaneous projects as needed
Accounts Payable:
Provide data entry backup to the AP clerk
File paid invoices
Prepare and submit check requisitions for reimbursement to divisional bank accounts
Other:
Manage Israel bonds
File welfare exemption and property tax documents
Review expense reports
File journal entries
Other projects as needed
Works with all members of the Accounting Department
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 1 years A/P, A/R, and G/L experience
Completion of beginning college level accounting course
Excellent communication skills
Detail oriented and well organized
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word
Accounting/Fundraising software experience a plus
