We are currently looking for a Sr. Software Developer to join our team of high caliber engineers. In this role you will be responsible for software development on our family of security appliances.

Responsibilities:
Virus Signature Developer
• Developing new signatures (pattern and md5 based) for newly discovered viruses.
• Utilizing our "honeypot" systems to identify and isolate virus outbreaks.
• Working with the appliance team as well as update server team to ensure that new signatures can be deployed to our customer base as rapidly as possible.
Spam Rule Developer
• Developing new patterns and rules, using regular expressions, perl, and C, to identify spam messages without causing "false positives"
• Designing a test system for new rules, using our "honeypots" and large collection of legitimate and spam email.
• Working with the spam appliance team as well as update server team to ensure that new rules/patterns can be deployed to our customer base as rapidly as possible.
Spam Central Developer
• Enhancing our existing "Spam Central" environment that takes user submitted and automatically collected spam messages. This system has an automatic component that automatically generates signatures for spam messages as well as a manual component that presents spam messages to "editors" for review and spam signature creation.
• Working with our server operations group to maintain the systems that support this environment.
• Enhancing the Web UI that allows the manual "editors" to examine and act on spam messages.
• Enhancing the tools that automatically generate rules for spam.
IM Rule Developer
• Development and maintenance of GUI tools utilizing Perl, CGI, and MySQL.
• Development and maintenance of backend servers utilizing Perl, XMPP, and MySQL.
• Modification of server code using C. (optional)
• Development and maintenance of automated system administration tools using Perl and shell.
Required Skills:
• 5-7 years experience in software development for enterprise level products
• Expertise writing in Perl or C on Linux
• Proven track record with technical leadership
• Experience working for an appliance company is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work in a complex team environment
Preferred Skills:
• Expertise in SMTP or HTTP protocols – preferably having written a client, server, or proxy for one or both protocols.
• Experience with Linux firewalls (IPtables, IPvs, etc.)
• Linux system administration skills
• Anti-spam (preferably SpamAssassin) system experience.
BS in CS or equivalent required.
