Job Description
PGP Corporation is seeking a Revenue Manager to join its Finance and Accounting Team. This position is located in our Palo Alto, CA headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Manage revenue recognition policies and processes.
- Review of contracts and significant purchase orders to ensure compliance with SOP 97-2, 98-9 and related pronouncements.
- Work with Legal and Sales Teams to provide suggestions and assistance for contract negotiation.
- Take the lead role with revenue team in monthly/quarterly close, revenue reporting, reconciliations and analysis.
- Prepare global revenue and deferred revenue reports to support internal/external reporting requirements.
- Interface with auditors related to revenue/deferred revenue and reconciliations.
- Actively participate in the evolution of PGP revenue-related systems and infrastructure.
- Ensure revenue accounting policies are documented and applied consistently.
- Review of all proposed marketing announcements and new offerings to ensure past and current revenue is not compromised, and proper revenue recognition treatment is applied based on current technical accounting guidelines.
Position Requirements:
- Hands on experience with SOP 97-2, 98-9, SAB 101.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret revenue documents and contracts.
- Experience with revenue recognition and order management systems.
- Significant computer skills with PC, Windows, and accounting software applications
- Experience with reporting tools such as Crystal, Business Objects or Microsoft Access a plus
- Detail oriented, with the ability to see the big picture
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Takes ownership of responsibilities and possess ability to innovate while working independently.
- Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance required with a minimum of four years of public/private accounting and operations experience
- MBA and/or CPA a plus.
- SOX 404 experience a plus.
