This was a bank wide project that touched every department in the bank to improve the Bank’s efficiency ratio.
Was responsible for 10 divisions of the bank to identify projects to help improve the efficiency ratio.
This was a very ambitious, 2 year project
One of six senior managers selected by the President to implement the projects identified in Mission Excel.
Responsible for 585 of the individual Division projects; managed 45 project managers. This resulted in an incremental $35 million to pre-tax income, a boost of approximately 12% for the company.
Mission Excel Challenge Team member, SVP 1997-1999
One of 40 senior managers from across the Bank to be selected to work on the bank Efficiency Ratio Improvement Project.
Directed the collection of 700 ideas from bank employees on how to improve bank process to improve and tracked the implementation of those projects.
Operations & Services Group Administration, SVP 1997 – 1999
Worked on a variety of concurrent (with the above) bank-wide projects for the Operations Division. Performed bank-wide projects involving multiple divisions and all levels of management
Started, organized, and completed multiple projects which included the following:
o Reduced Federal Reserve Bank reserve payments by $150 million
o Managed a branch process reengineering project, saving 450,000 hours of processing
o Mission Simplify to reengineer back-office operations to simplify them, centralizing many functions so that they would be completed uniformly across the bank.
o Program Manager for client/server LAN database to track Corporate Real Estate projects
o Managed a Productivity and Quality improvement project for Managers and Supervisors throughout the division.

Matrix-managed 45-50 senior managers to for coordinating the tracking and updating of all details in The Bank of California/Union Bank merger.
