Description Snapfish is looking for an expert to join our system support team. This position will be responsible for supporting and maintaining our fast-pace core web productions environment. The ideal candidate must have 4 - 6 years experience running a 24x7 production system/network administration environment. The candidate must have managed large scale storage systems and a complete understanding of file system/ NFS and clustering for Solaris and Linux environment. The ideal candidate must have a solid and recent understanding of Linux and a basic understanding of Networking, including Cisco/Foundry.


Job Responsibilities:
• Maintain and manage over 100 TBs plus of Network Appliance storage. Full understanding of SnapMirror, SnapVault, Cluster Failover, and other management tools to provide high availability and data protection.
• Provide system support for the development team on such request as NFS issue, Export/Archive restore, storage issues, new mounts or remounts etc.
• Support all systems in production and corporate staging environment; (30+ UNIX servers, 200 + Linux servers, Network Appliance and SGI storage.
• Work with a team to automate management tasks, streamline processes and perform standard administration functions as needed. Team coverage include rotating pager duties and responding within 15 minutes for providing high service supporting 24/7 365 as needed.
• Monitor systems performance, make recommendations to improve and implement system changes to enhance overall system proficiency. This includes diagnosing, tuning systems, updating patches as needed.
• Hardware Installation and Maintenance: Provide technical support for production services including problem isolation and resolution in a timely manner. Perform systems’ installs, Kernel configurations, Logical Volume Manager setup, file systems maintenance, system recovery and others hardware and maintenance needs.
• Must provide high-level system support managing our disk volumes using Veritas Volume Manager that runs on Oracle 8i and 9i. Provide expert level knowledge of file system/ volume management and clustering for Solaris and Linux environment.
• Keep up-to-date on new developments in your field and be a technical lead and resource to mentor others.
• Networking: Work with Network Administrator in supporting network issues. Troubleshoot and correct network failures. Monitor connectivity to detect network faults and measure network performance. (e.g. ping, traceroute). Upgrade and configure of BigIP load balancer. Hardware support, Cisco routers, switches. Knowledge of NAT, TCP/IP, routing protocols, firewall technology.
• Support in formulating security procedures to prevent, detect, and respond to internal and external security threats. Evaluate potential problems of security attacks. Perform periodic security audits to ensure security has not been breached or compromised.
• Discuss Disaster Recovery Plan for production


Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience and understanding of grand scale file storage applications such as Network Appliance Filer 940, 760, NearStore R100, R150. Full understanding of SnapMirror, SnapVault, Cluster Failover, and other management tools to provide high availability and data protection.
• Experience with Veritas Volume Management Version 3 and 4, Cluster Server, and Storage Foundation. NetBackup a plus.
• Superior understanding of Linux RedHat (version 7 plus) and Solaris (version 2.7 plus)
• Familiarity with kernal / performance tuning, actively uses compilers, tools, techniques, etc‘K -Understanding of server architectures and hardware.
• Strong Internet experience, especially with load balancing device BigIP and Internet protocols http, tcp/ip, etc‘K -NFS/NIS as well as DNS experience -Experience with open source mail systems (e.g. qmail, sendmail, etc.)
• Experience with RAID devices.
• Scripting skills (perl, csh, bsh, ksh).
• Knowledge with Unix and network security.
