Reporting to the Director of Quality Engineering, the Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for leading the white box testing strategy. This will include, but is not limited to: developing a white box framework and working with Development to determine the best strategy for ensuring that our APIs are well tested from both a functional and load testing perspective.
Job Responsibilities
Actively participate in the review of the PRD and functional specifications. Provide timely feedback to ensure that the quality of the documentation facilitates effective QA test planning.
Lead the definition and successful implementation of the whitebox framework that will provide the infrastructure to execute automated API tests.
Define the coding standards and best practices for development and maintenance of whitebox code.
Analyze performance characteristics of the Everdream APIs.
Investigate the usage of code coverage tools to analyze automation test coverage.
Work closely with the Development teams to ensure that testability is designed and built into the product.
Actively contribute towards the refinement of the Quality Assurance infrastructure (ie: lab environment, test case management, reporting, automated regression suites).
Provide technical leadership by mentoring and supporting all members of the Quality Assurance team.
Lead the team in continuous improvement and evolution of Quality Assurance practices (processes and tools) for delivering high quality products in a timely manner.
Required Skills and Experience
6 to 8+ years of experience in the Software Industry with a minimum of 2 years as a QA Team Lead or Whitebox Lead.
2 years of Development experience in a commercial environment working on enterprise class software.
Proven Development experience in C++, C# or Java.
Deep experience in testing web applications and knowledgeable in ASP, HTML, JavaScript, and XML.
Knowledgeable in protocols such as HTTP, SSL, SMTP, SNMP, and LDAP
Experience in API testing, building test drivers, and using frameworks such as jUnit or nUnit.
Familiar with the use of code coverage tools and memory leak detection and analysis.
Hands on experience with the installation and configuration of relational database servers in addition to the ability to write advanced SQL queries.
Knowledgeable in QA methodology (structured approach to testing, black box, gray box, white box, automation, and performance testing approaches).
Proven track record in providing technical leadership in producing software products in a fast paced dynamic environment consisting of culturally diverse set of people.
I18N & L10N testing experience with single and double byte character sets is a plus.
Excellent Communication skills (both verbal and written). Able to clearly articulate complex technical issues in a straight forward and concise manner.
Flexible and adaptable in meeting the changing needs of the department and business.
Education
BS CS, CE or equivalent required.
