We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Merchandise Manager!
Responsibilities
Line Plan Development
Work with Sales and GMM to create product strategy briefs. Briefs should include all pertinent information related to environment of the product category.
Responsible for creating, maintaining, and presenting line plans.
Responsible for identifying in-season product opportunities.
Participate in the weekly priority meeting to ensure product, account and corporate goals are maximized and aligned with resources.
SKU Maintenance—analyze the current product mix and customer demand with Sales and Product Planning to recommend expansions and deletions of products and product lines.
Sales and Profit
P&L Management. Responsible for top line and category financial planning/forecasting and creating/implementing product strategy to support sales and margin targets.
Responsible for working with Sales and Planning to meet SKU productivity and distribution plans.
Responsible for analyzing costs, creating price list and quoting price and delivery windows on products to Sales teams.
Run monthly operational meetings with Sales, Customer Service and Planning Teams.
Analyze business performance to plan and make recommendations to meet or exceed targets.
Develop programs to use leftover fabric and trim.
Sales, Marketing and Design
Work with the merchandising and design teams to develop strategies that support brand, product category and overall business evolution.
Set weekly priorities around work in process and manage the Design and Development interface to support product ideation, fabric and prototype development and costing in accordance with the development calendar.
Monitor, review and approve fabric, artwork and SKU development to ensure line plan objectives, product pricing and margin requirements are met .
Manage line previews and other product presentation preparation. Present brand/product concepts with Sales teams to retail management.
Work with Sales team on concepts directed by the customer. This includes probing the customer to articulate what they envision as final product and executing it to their vision.
Work with Design to insure that new designs created are within the vision of the licensee and customer.
Communicate trend message set by design to Sales team and customer.
Plan and manage sampling and showroom presentation based on licensor, design and sales input.
Research and Analysis
Research customer needs and review data from the field.
Identify and evaluate opportunities by category and account to support line plan development and sales growth.
Analyze and commercialize trend information from Design.
License Relationship
Support license agreements and business relationship with licensor.
Support approval processes and the development calendar.
Understand contract agreements and ensure that we are meeting all requirements.
Requirements
BA/BS in Business, Merchandising or related field
Minimum 5-10 years experience in vertical retail and/or wholesale environment
Proven work experience in managing P&L
Working knowledge of fabric and product construction
Proven work experience in managing key interfaces with Design, Product Development, Sales, Planning, and Asian Offices
Understanding of global sourcing and have proven work experience in the development of Country Strategy for production and development
Ability to manage and lead staff/team members effectively. Ability to work collaboratively in creative environment
Strong sense of urgency; meet deadlines; juggle multiple projects simultaneously; thrive in fast-paced environment
Ability to anticipate and resolve problems quickly
Physical Requirements:
Domestic and Overseas travel
Domestic travel entails 4 trips for market week, 4-6 customer trips annually
Overseas travel to support fabric sourcing and development 4 times annually
