Robert Half Technology, a division of Robert Half International (RHI) is a leader in specialized staffing for 55+ years.
We have an immediate need for a rapidly growing client of ours looking for a Senior Linux Engineer with good experience with security. This person must have worked in a "REVENUE PRODUCING ENVIRONMENT". This position requires the candidate to be at an expert level on Linux administration.
This person will provide a highly technical leadership role in researching, designing, specifying, and maintaining global server and network infrastructure.
Emphasis on Linux software and hardware deployments and security model definition and enforcement. Experience here is a must.
Role:
This person will be a key member of a small team responsible for successfully specifying, deploying, and maintaining computer and communications infrastructure in an environment currently numbering over 300 servers and network devices. This is a lead technical role responsible for defining, implementing and maintaining: production server and OS platforms, security standards on both OS and network technologies, data protection, production network and system deployments, power systems, operating system and middleware standards, remote management tools, redundancy and resiliency and high availability systems, system maintenance practices, auditing, intrusion detection. This is an architectural level position but the expectation is that it is much more hands on than a traditional systems architect.
Qualifications:
BSCS or related, Masters a plus. Many years experience in computer and network infrastructure. Many years proven experience in a senior technical lead role. Several years experience as a Unix/Linux system administrator. Linux/Unix and Windows networking experience, open source software experience, network architecture experience, superior written and verbal communications skills, knowledge and/or support of software development process. This person must have demonstrated increasing responsibility in computer infrastructure and networking technology with experience in a lights out production revenue-producing environment. The position requires a strong blend of intelligence, diplomacy, quickness, agile communications, technical depth and breadth, industry knowledge and experience that quickly gains respect and trust of staff inside and outside the department and organization.
