Description Easter Seals Bay Area creates solutions and changes lives of children and adults with disabilities, special needs and their families. Through its innovative services, ESBA promotes equality and dignity, providing opportunities for independence, integration and enhanced health and wellness.

We are seeking a SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR to join our dynamic fundraising team. The Special Events Coordinator assists with all aspects of special event preparation, production and follow-up. Tasks will include: written, telephone and email communications; on-site special event logistics; pre-event preparation; designing and production of event marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, invitations, letters, program materials, ad journals and awards, etc.; coordinating mailings; special event set-up; registration; auctions; and interacting and coordinating with volunteers and volunteer committees.

The ideal candidate has experience with nonprofit special event planning and production. Characteristics of the successful candidate include:

• Passionate about quality, inclusive services for adults and children with disabilities.

• Enthusiastic, interested in meeting people and sharing ESBA’s vision of changing lives.

• Able to work with individuals, committees and groups to foster the Easter Seals' mission.

• Experienced in working with and managing volunteers in relation to fundraising events.

• Able and willing to work outside traditional hours, on occasion, to assist with special fundraising events.

• A team player, able to work independently and with direction.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially EXCEL and WORD.

• Will advocate for Easter Seals’ mission in all activities and presentations.

Educational Requirements: two years of college level education or AA degree preferred but not required.

Experience: Two years of experience in a general administrative support position with public contact. Minimum of 6 months of experience supporting work in a nonprofit environment.

This is a full time, nonexempt position with benefits. Salary will range from $17.00 to $18.00/hour, depending in part on the experience of the candidate selected.
