Speak up for a Child - Become an Advocate/Mentor

Title Speak up for a Child - Become an Advocate/Mentor
Category Boats
Created 03/15/06
Description Every day in California, nearly 100 abused and neglected children enter foster care.

Child Advocates of Santa Clara & San Mateo Counties (www.cadvocates.org) seeks committed volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of abused and neglected children. Our volunteers work one-on-one with children in the foster care system, helping them thrive and find safe, permanent homes. Each of the agency's highly-trained volunteers is appointed by the court to work with an abused or neglected child, acting as a mentor and advocate for the child's best interests.

Child Advocates is the only nonprofit organization appointed by the Santa Clara dependency courts to represent the needs of abused and neglected children. We are one of the largest affiliates of the National Court Appointed Special Advocates program (CASA). The organization has served thousands of children since its founding in 1986.

Our mission is to provide stability and hope to abused and neglected children by being a powerful voice in their lives. There are over 400 children in our local foster care systems waiting for an Advocate. We serve the Santa Clara County courts, but our children are located all over the Bay Area.
