Event management company is looking for an event manager and assistant to manage the set up and execution of a rapidly expanding membership soccer program in the Bay Area. South San Francisco High School is the latest venue for this exciting and innovative soccer program where kids develop their soccer skills and learn from professional soccer coaches from the MLS Camps program.
Successful candidates must have 1-3 years experience organizing and managing events and/or sports tournaments. You must be dependable and able to work early mornings on the weekends. Timliness is extremely important and your ability to work efficiently is crucial. You should be willing to get your hands dirty but also be able to deal with the public in a pleasant manner. The program runs from late February through October, and I am looking for a team of two who can commit to the entire season.
You will be responsible for set up of the event site, check in of participating members, customer service, supervision of event flow, ongoing troubleshooting, event breakdown and all other related functions.
Hours are approximately 5 hours per week on Sundays to start but will likely grow as the event increases in popularity and we add new sessions. We started this program 2 years ago with 1 clinic per weekend in the San Jose area. This year we are expanding to 9 clinics per weekend in San Jose, Hayward, East Palo Alto and South San Francisco. In April we are launching in Los Angeles. This gig is a great opportunity for you to get involved in a truly unique and exciting sports marketing program.
If you are interested, please shoot me your resume and a brief description of why you are right for this gig. This is a perfect part time job for someone who enjoys being outdoors, likes working with children and has an interest in developing sports and event management skills.
