For Sale:    2 Sony CRT Projectors

After a couple of weeks of wading through scammers, playing phone tag with interested people, a failed trip to New York, and a couple of people who could not quite seem to show up and look at the projectors... it looks like it is time to post this ad and try again.  Good ol' Craig's List :^)

If you would like to see them, or ask me any questions, call me at 510-532-0235.

Here is the story:
I actually have two projectors to sell.  I used one for a couple of years, and I liked it so much I bought an extra one off of eBay as a spare.
They have been out of use for almost 3 years since I moved to a new home.  The spare was used a couple times to make sure that it worked.

I believe both projectors have less than 2000 hours or use (I think close to 1800 or so, but I forget exactly; under 2,000.  They have internal clocks to check the hours.).  The bulbs on these are rated to go for 10,000 hours!  So they have more than 80% of their life left.

These projectors originally retailed for over $20,000 a piece!  They are very serious professional projectors.  They are very big and heavy and are known as the workhorse models in the industry.  They will take any kind of signal, and produce a great picture.

Below is a much more detailed description.

For sale is a Sony VPH-1272Q CRT video projector for $750, and a Sony VPH-1252Q CRT video projector for $500.
Both units have less than 2000 hours on the original bulbs and no burn in!  Most DLP or LCD projectors they sell nowadays have bulbs with a 2,000 hour life, but the tubes in these units have a half-life of 10,000 hours, so these have most of their life left.  Both projectors are in excellent working condition.  I think I have Wireless Remotes for both units, but at this moment I am only sure of where one of them is (I will look around for the other one today).  The one I am sure of will stay with the 1272Q for now.

Details for the Sony VPH-1272Q CRT video projector:
This was one of the best CTR projectors Sony made, with a list price of $30,000 + tax.  CRT projectors can reproduce much more life-like colors then any DLP projectors, and smoother, more realistic pictures  with much better contrast then LCD (no screen-door effect like LCD either).  This particular projector, the 1272, has a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 which is enough to do any HDTV source.  Most LCD/DLP projectors are 854x480, or 1280x768 if you are lucky!  The projector can be adjusted to project an image from 70" to 300" in size.
Unlike older CRT projectors which were hard to setup and converge, this unit has full digital convergence, with many built-in test patterns to make sure the image is perfect.  On top of the basic convergence, there is also 21 point fine-tuning convergence which guarantees a perfect picture.  Included is a print out of the installation and setup manual, which as step-by-step instructions.
