Borrego Solar Systems, Inc, one of the leading solar energy integrators in California, currently seeks an entry-level and experienced Solar Electric INSTALLERS for our Bay Area branch. Located in west Berkeley (Alameda County), we are seeking a hard working mechanically minded individual to work in the field installing both residential and commercial grid-tied pv systems. Project locations vary all over the Bay Area. We offer a workplace that is casual, upbeat and hard working. We are looking for individuals who are seeking to learn and master all aspects of installing solar pv systems. A successful candidate for this position has these qualifications:
Strong work ethic, self motivation, organization and a can-do attitude
Experience in mechanical installations, general construction and ladder work
Basic understanding/experience with electrical wiring - AC and DC systems
1-2 years of construction background is PREFERRED
Experience with all types of hand-held and power tools
Experience with small machinery (trenchers, bobcats, forklifts) preferred
Experience working with all types of building materials - various roof types, stucco, wood, concrete, Uni-strut, roofing etc.
Disciplined, self-motivated work style
Good communication skills - Team player who listens, learns, and actively communicates
Visual thinker good at problem solving and implementing ideas
Knowledge of the RE marketplace, technology and industry
Desire to learn and master all aspects of installing solar pv systems
H.S. Diploma, two-year degree in technology/industrial arts preferred
Has been employed by a well known contractor a PLUS
Job Description:
Solar Installers / Technicians are responsible for project installations, service, and shop maintenance. Ideal applicant will have experience in electrical wiring and/or construction. Successful candidate will be trained in all aspects of solar technology and installation methods. Installers work in groups of 4 servicing both residential and commercial installations on an alternative work schedule of 4 - 10 hour days. This is an entry-level position with an opportunity to work on both the mechanical and electrical side of installing solar pv systems. Candidate will be required to provide his/her own hand tools.
