A position is opening up in a small research lab at NASA/Ames Research Center. I am looking to hire a talented software engineer with with exposure to C++, real time simulation, and 3D Computer Graphics. The successful candidate must have significant development experience in Linux or Unix and a good background in Computer Graphics algorithms and their implementation using either OpenGL, Performer or OSG.
This individual will work within a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to understand the research goals, design and develop software to meet these goals, and support the simulation through data collection and analysis.
This could be a contract position (1099)or an employee position (W2).
Requirements (general):
• Bachelors degree in Math, Computer Science, software engineering, or a related field, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Must be self-motivated, proactive, and work well within a small tight-knit team.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Must be a self-starter and a US citizen or green card holder.
• Excellent programming and design skills.
Requirements (technical):
• Fluent in Linux/Unix development including C/C++, OpenGL, Performer/OSG.
• TCP comms and strong math skills desired. Must be a self starter who can work on their own and in a small team.
• Excellent C/C++ coding and analysis skills.
Desired:
• Exposure to aeronautical concepts.
• Serial comms, USB comms and socket comms.
• Linux tools and development environment
• Linux configuration management skills
