Amazon's Global Subscriptions team is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, deploy, maintain, document, and deliver large-scale, highly-distributed information retrieval solutions using C++, Java, Object Oriented Design (OOD) patterns, multi-threaded programming techniques, and networking and messaging technologies on a Linux platform.
Build and improve informational retrieval software and create innovative ways for our customers to find and explore our products. Create robust, scalable, and supportable solutions that work well within the overall system architecture. Participate in and significantly influence the full development cycle, end-to-end, from design, implementation, documentation, or maintenance, working within defined parameters. Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools for major projects. Participate in the delivery of an entire piece of a system or application.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related equivalent
- 3+ years of experience of industry experience (outside of school experience)
- Java, C++, OO design patterns and multi-threaded programming techniques required (Unix/Linux environment)
- A desire to work on cool projects for a world class technology company
