www.snapjot.com

I'm launching a search for a seasoned Software / Systems Architect to provide technical leadership for SnapJot's development group.

SnapJot is a funded startup, founded by former Hotmail and Ofoto executives, building a consumer-oriented service that brings together digital media, blogging, and social networking to enable individuals, families, and groups to tell and share their stories.

SnapJot is located in San Francisco. They're looking for a bright, energetic and self-motivated individual who can thrive in the dynamic environment of a start-up. This listing is for a full-time, permanent position with salary, substantial options package, and paid vacation, good medical/dental coverage, and an open, fun environment.

ABOUT SNAPJOT

What is SnapJot?
SnapJot is a new consumer Web service that makes it easy for groups to document and publish multimedia stories.

How does it work?
Users create “Jots” – similar to the pages of a scrapbook – and connect them together chronologically to make thematic “stories.” Story authors can then invite others to contribute their media and comments, which are easily incorporated into the growing body of content. The objective is to easily produce a single digital repository of group content that can then be turned into prints, merchandise, photo books, CDs and DVDs.

What’s a Jot?
A Jot is a multimedia object that contains text and media (photos, audio, video), and is as easy to compose as an email message. Jots can be created online at snapjot.com or uploaded via email or picture phone.

Who is SnapJot for?
While we believe there are many applications of SnapJot, our initial target audience is families with young children.

What’s different about SnapJot?
Collaboration.
Today’s photo sharing services are not collaborative – in effect, they fragment people’s memories into monolithic albums. SnapJot creates a central place to create the definitive account of a group’s experience.

Desktop-like publishing.
More than just a photo repository, SnapJot lets communities of interest tell their stories and then publish them in a variety of output formats.
