Financial Planning Analyst

 

The Financial Planning Analyst will be an important member of the Finance organization, and will work closely with Shutterfly’s business unit leadership teams. The position will be responsible for assisting in the budgeting and forecasting activities across the Company, and the financial analysis of business unit operations. This person will work with the Director of Business Planning and Marketing Analysis to lead the initiative of designing and implementing a system for distributing the company’s key financial and performance information.  This person will also be responsible for presenting key business insights and recommendations to the Finance leadership team.  This person will report directly to the Director of Business Planning and Marketing Analysis.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Improving and maintaining an executive dashboard for key metrics. 
  • Preparing monthly budget vs. actual variance analyses.
  • Managing the weekly revenue forecasting process. 
  • Working closely with various departments to provide operational analysis and reporting.
  • Assisting with the company’s budgeting and forecasting process, including reporting and analysis. 
  • Maintaining capital markets and competitor data.
  • Performing ad hoc financial analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Implementing and managing monthly marketing dashboard with key metrics, insights, and learnings from the current period.
  • Partnering with Marketing team to better understand customer metrics.
  • Educating the marketing team on key business insights used to drive key business decisions.

 

Experience & Requirements:

 

B.S. degree in finance or economics

  • 4-6 years of financial planning and analysis experience in a large growth company, preferably in an FP&A environment.
  • Experience should include management reporting responsibilities, forecasting/ budgeting, and analytical projects
  • Systems savvy, having experience with budgeting and business analytical packages (Cognos, Hyperion, or other ERP systems).
  • Must have excellent excel and access skills.
  • Experience with accounting Great Plains accounting system and Crystal Reports is a plus.
  • Experience with multivariate, and regression analysis.
  • Must have strong communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to interpret and summarize data to aid management in achieving strategic and operational goals.
  • Need the ability to work in fast pace and high-growth environment.
