This position is responsible for maintaining the fixed asset records in accordance with US GAAP. They will be responsible for gathering & reviewing supporting documentation to ensure assets are being capitalized vs. expensed, updating and maintaining (i.e. reconciling) the fixed asset subledger, calculating and booking all depreciation entries, as well as running various reports pertaining to the depreciation for tax.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
* Understanding of capitalization and depreciation.
* Maintaining policies and procedures related to fixed assets.
* Analyzing specific fixed asset balance sheet and P&L accounts.
* Assisting in audits of fixed assets as required.
* Assisting on various tax reporting requirements, including tax depreciation.
* Preparing analysis for special projects as needed
Requirements:
*2-3 years of general accounting experience, including at least 1 year in fixed asset accounting.
* Degree in either Accounting or Finance.
* PC Knowledgeable.
* Knowledgeable of both book and tax depreciation methods and guidelines.
* Ability to work with executives in various functional areas.
* Strong organizational skills with ability to exercise sound judgment.
* Works well independently.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
